ChillCheck
Temperature and cooling logs for restaurant kitchens.
The first thing a health inspector asks for is your temperature log. ChillCheck puts it on the phone that is already in the kitchen: reminders at the times you set, a number pad and nothing else, and a monthly PDF you can hand over.

Features
What it does
Everything here is in the shipping app. Nothing on this page describes something that is planned.
Reminders you will actually answer
Set the times each unit gets checked — open, midday, close — and the phone asks at those times. Never more than a few a day, because a notification that gets ignored is worse than none.
One tap to the number pad
The notification opens straight onto the keypad for that unit. No menus, no searching for the right fridge. Type the number and you are done.
Out of range, and what you did about it
When a reading falls outside the range you set for that unit, ChillCheck asks what you did — discarded, moved, adjusted the thermostat — with room for a note and a photo.
Two-stage cooling timer
Start a batch and ChillCheck works out the deadline for each stage and reminds you before it passes.
Fill in the day you missed
Nobody records perfectly. Go back and complete an earlier day — the entry is marked as entered late, honestly, because a log nobody can trust is not worth keeping.
A PDF for the inspector
Export any month as a printable report: every unit, every scheduled check, and the exceptions with their corrective actions.
Privacy
Your records stay on the phone
There is no account, no sign-up and no password. ChillCheck needs no network at all — which is the point, because walk-ins and back kitchens rarely have a signal.
Stays on the device
- Temperature readings, the time each was recorded, and whether it was entered late
- The units you set up, their target ranges, and their check schedules
- Corrective actions, your notes, and any photos you attach
- Cooling logs
- Your settings, including temperature unit and reminder times
Leaves the device
- Your purchase receipt, an anonymous app identifier, and basic device information — to RevenueCat, our subscription provider
- The purchase itself — to Apple or Google, depending on where you bought it
The identifier used for your subscription is generated at random. It is not your name, your email or your phone number, and there is no account it could be matched against.
Questions
Before you ask
The rest of the questions, how to cancel, and how to reach a person are on the support page.
- Does it work without a signal?
- Yes. Walk-ins and back kitchens have terrible reception, so ChillCheck never needs the network. Recording, reminders, the cooling timer and PDF export all work in airplane mode, and your subscription stays unlocked offline.
- Do I need an account?
- No. There is no sign-up, no email, and no password. Your records live on your device.
- What happens to my records if I uninstall the app?
- They are deleted with the app. Nothing is stored anywhere else, so export the months you need to keep before uninstalling or changing phones.
