Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Ludicrous, inc. (株式会社LUDICROUS) covering your use of Mekuri. By installing or using the app, you accept them. If you do not, do not use the app.

What Mekuri is

Mekuri is a study tool. It makes questions from the notes, handouts and textbook pages you add, marks your answers, and plans your daily review back from your exam date.

You are responsible for what you add, and for checking questions and marking against your own notes. Mekuri does not know what your exam will cover, and the marking that counts is your teacher’s or examiner’s.

Subscriptions

Mekuri is free to use up to 3 notes and 5 AI markings in total, and 1 exam, with no time limit. Reviewing the questions you have made is unlimited on every plan. More notes and markings, similar questions, marked-test imports and practice exams need a subscription. Plus Monthly, Plus Yearly and Pro Yearly begin with a seven-day free trial for new subscribers. Plans are Plus Monthly (billed every month), Plus Yearly (billed every year), Pro Monthly (billed every month) and Pro Yearly (billed every year). The price of each plan is shown on the purchase screen in the app, in your local currency, before you buy.

• Payment is charged to your Apple or Google account when you confirm the purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the same price, unless you cancel.
• To cancel, turn off auto-renewal in your store account settings at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Cancelling stops the next charge; you keep access until the period you have paid for runs out.
• Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in the store.

Refunds

Purchases are made through Apple and Google, and only they can issue refunds. We cannot reverse a charge. If something went wrong, tell us at support@ludicrous.co.jp — we will help where we can, and we would rather know than not.

Your records

Your records belong to you. We store them for your account so that the app can work, and you can export them or delete them at any time from the app. Once your account is deleted we cannot restore them. To keep your notes when you change phones, link Apple or Google in the Settings tab. To keep a copy of your own, use Export my data.

Acceptable use

Use Mekuri for your own study. Add only material you have the right to use for that, do not add other people’s personal information, and do not try to make the AI produce anything other than study questions from your material. Do not reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the app, except where that restriction is not enforceable under the law that applies to you.

Availability and changes

We may update Mekuri, change its features, or stop offering it. If we discontinue it, we will not cut short a subscription period you have already paid for. This page and the privacy policy stay available after any such discontinuation.

No warranty

Mekuri is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that a notification will always be delivered — device settings, power, and operating system behaviour are outside our control. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so this may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost records, regulatory penalties, or the outcome of any inspection. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Mekuri in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

If you installed from the App Store

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Mekuri or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim you have about the app, including product liability, a failure to conform to a legal requirement, or a claim under consumer protection or privacy law. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.
