Deleting Your Account

Cancel your subscription first. Deleting your Mekuri account does not cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play — the store keeps charging until you cancel it there. The steps are on the Support page.

This page explains how to delete your account in Mekuri, the app published by Ludicrous, inc. (株式会社LUDICROUS) on the App Store and Google Play, and what happens to your data when you do.

Delete your account in the app

Open Mekuri and go to the Settings tab.
Tap Delete account, near the bottom.
Tap Delete permanently.
If you linked Apple, confirm with Apple when asked. This lets Mekuri revoke its access to your Apple ID; if you cancel here, nothing is deleted.

Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account. Use the steps above.

What is deleted

Your notes: the photos and PDFs, the text read from them, and their questions
Your answers, marking, review schedule and study history
Your exams, practice exams, marked-test summaries, question reports and settings, including your school and year
Your account itself, including the link to Apple or Google and, for Google, the email address stored with it
The purchase record kept under your account ID by our subscription provider, RevenueCat

This cannot be undone. If you want a copy, export it before you delete.

In the Settings tab, Export my data saves your notes, questions and records as a JSON file. Photos and PDFs are not included.

What is kept

Your subscription. The store keeps it, and keeps charging, until you cancel it there.
Purchase records kept by Apple and Google under their own policies.
Crash reports, which never contain your notes or answers. Google keeps them for up to 90 days and then deletes them automatically.

Delete your account on the web

You can also delete your account without the app. Sign in with the Apple or Google account you linked in Mekuri, confirm, and your account and data are deleted the same way as in the app.

If you cannot open the app

If you cannot use the web page, email support@ludicrous.co.jp with the subject “Delete my Mekuri account”. If you linked Google, write from that address or include it. We will confirm which account it is before deleting it, and tell you when it is done. An account that was never linked to Apple or Google is not tied to anything we can identify you by, so it can only be deleted from the app; we cannot find it from an email or on the web.
