Walk-in cooler temperature log
The same sheet as the blank template, with the cold-holding target already printed on it. Use it for a walk-in, a reach-in, a prep table or any refrigerator — they are all the same piece of paper.
The sheet
What is on it
- Target
- Printed as 41°F or below — the common US default, editable in the sense that you should cross it out if your health department says otherwise.
- Header
- Unit or location, the week beginning, and who is filling it in.
- Grid
- A row per day, three checks across: the time, the temperature, and initials for each.
- Corrective
- Four ruled rows for out-of-range readings: date, time, unit, the reading, what you did, initials.
Using it
How to keep it
- One sheet per unit. A single sheet covering four fridges is how a reading ends up written against the wrong one.
- Check the door seal and the load before you write off a high reading — a walk-in opened twenty times in an hour reads high for a reason worth noting.
- If your health department works to a different number, cross out the printed target and write theirs. The number on the sheet is a common default, not a requirement.
- Out of range: fill in the block at the bottom. What you did about it is the part an inspector reads.

The same log, without the clipboard
In the app each unit carries its own range, and a reading outside it opens the corrective action straight away instead of waiting for someone to remember at the bottom of the page.
